STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) are the prime engines that have steered national growth and created a self-reliant India. Women and girls constitute half of the world’s population and, consequently, half of its potential. Therefore, closing the gender gap in the STEM field is crucial for truly realising the country’s potential. It is also important to provide our millennial girls with a glimpse of the professional lives of women scientists as this will resonate more closely with the challenges, fear and doubts that spur out of the sociocultural conditioning in young girls interested in pursuing science.
