Gunpowder entered India through China. In 13th century it was used to demolish Fort's wall. But credit for using it in cannons and guns goes to Babur. Zahiruddin Babur descended from the Turk-Mongol Conqueror Timur on his father side and Genghis Khan on his mother's side. Babur, the eldest son of Uman Shaikh Mirza, was born on 14th February, 1483.
