NETWORK
A network is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes, network devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to allow data sharing. An example of a network is the Internet, which connects millions of people all over the world.
Types of Network: LAN, WAN, MAN
• Local Area Network (LAN): A local area network (LAN) is an assembly of interconnected devices situated in a single physical space, like a house, workplace, or building.
• A local area network (LAN) can be modest or large, ranging from a single user network at home to an enterprise network in an office or school with thousands of users and devices.
• Wide Area Network (WAN) : The technology that links your offices, data centers, cloud storage and apps is called a wide-area network, or WAN.
• The term “wide-area network” refers to a network that extends beyond a single structure or sizable campus to encompass several places dispersed throughout a certain region, or even the entire globe.
• Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) : A computer network situated in a single geographic area that is smaller than a wide area network (WAN) but larger than a local area network (LAN) of a single building is called a metropolitan area network (MAN).
• Typically, there are many LANs connected by specialized backbone connections.
• Web refers to the World Wide Web (WWW), the internet’s core information retrieval system.
• Web 2.0 is the current version of the web with which we are all familiar, while Web 3.0 represents its next phase that will be decentralized, open and of greater utility.
• Web 3.0 is built upon the core concepts of decentralization, openness, and greater user utility.
