The Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) commonly referred to as “APSC-CCE” is conducted to recruit
candidates for various administrative positions in the Assam Government by the Assam Public Service
Commission (APSC)
The recruitment process include 3 stages-
Examination Scheme for All stages
The Preliminary Examination shall consists of two papers:
1. Paper-1 : General Studies I (200
Marks, 2 Hours )
2. Paper 2: General Studies II (200 Marks, 2 Hours)
The total Qualifying marks of Paper-I General Studies I of CC(Preliminary) Examination may be determined by the Commission.
General Studies I shall be set in such a way that 30% to 35% of questions shall be compulsorily related to Assam.
General Studies II shall have minimum qualifying marks of 33% .

The main examination is intended to assess the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of their information and memory. The Main Examination shall consist of Written Examination and an Interview test. The written examinations shall consist of eight papers of conventional essay type/objective type with limited words and two qualifying Language papers (in the level of Class X). Marks obtained in interview for Preliminary Test shall be counted for ranking.
Stage III: Interview Exam -Qualified candidates in the CC (Mains) Exam will be called to appear for the Interview examination to analyze the candidate's mental and analytical ability.
Stage 1: Preliminary examination
The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination will consist of Two papers, viz., a paper on “General Studies I” & “General Studies II” .
