The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) commonly referred to as “Jharkhand Rajyaseva” is conducted to recruit candidates for various administrative positions in the Jharkhand Government.
The recruitment process includes 3 stages -

  1. Preliminary examination
  2. Mains examination
  3. Interview/ Personality test

Stage I: Preliminary examination

JPSC Prelims is a screening test used to shortlist candidates for the Mains. It includes two objective-type papers.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: In each Question Paper essential Qualifying marks for unreserved category will be 40 % and varies for the reserved categories and handicapped candidates. Second Question Paper –Eligibility Examination shall be of qualifying nature. Marks obtained in this question paper shall not be added while preparing the merit list for short listing of candidates for Main Examination. Candidates shall be selected for Main Examination on the basis of merit list of First Question Paper- General Studies.

Stage II (Mains Examination)

JPSC Rajyaseva Main Examination shall consist of six compulsory papers, common to all candidates two of these papers namely Paper-I (100 Marks) and Paper-II (150 M), shall be language based and the remaining four papers each of 200 Marks shall be subject based. The Language based Papers shall be (i) A Composite paper of General Hindi & English and (ii) A Language & Literature Paper of certain selected languages of which every candidate will have to opt for one. The Subject based papers shall be (i) Social Science (History & Geography) , (ii) Indian Constitution, Polity, Public Administration & Good Governance, (iii) Indian Economy, Globalization & Sustainable Development and (iv) General Science, Environment & Technology Development.
