The Tripura Public Service Commission conductsCombined Competitive Examination for recruitment to various administrative positions (Tripura Civil Services and Tripura Police Services) in Tripura.

The recruitment process includes 3 stages -

  1. Preliminary examination
  2. Mains examination
  3. Interview/ Personality test

Stage I: Preliminary examination

Tripura PSC Combined Competitive Examination Prelims Exam Pattern

The TPSC Civil Services Prelims is a screening test used to shortlist candidates for the Mains. It includes one objective-type paper. The marks obtained in this examination by the candidates will not be considered for final selection. Only those candidates who will be declared qualified at the Preliminary Examination will be eligible for admission to the TCS and TPS Main Examination.

The 2nd Stage that is the Mains Exam of MCS includes 1 Qualifying Paper and 7 merit papers of descriptive nature.

  • Cell: Ideal Structure , types with examples and functions.
  • Human Nutrition: Different nutrients- their source and importance, Balanced diet, Nutritional disorders, dietary fibres- their sources and importance.
  • Plant nutrients, improvement of Food Production using Chemical Fertilizers, Bio-Fertilizers and Vermicompost.
  • Blood Grouping and Rh Typing, Blood Transfusion: its importance, Precaution and Hazards of Mismatched Blood Transfusion.
  • Health and Hygiene:
    1. Diseases-
      • Cornmuaicable Diseases, Epidemic, Endemic, Pandemic and Vector Bom Diseases. Basic knowledge of Infections caused by different groups of Microorganisms - Diarrhoea, Dysentery, Cholera, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Ring Worm, Candidiasis. Viral lnfections like HIV, Encephalitis, Chikungunya, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Dengue - their Preventiva Measures during outbreaks.
      • Non Communicable Diseases- Autoimmune Disease, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Chronic Kidney Disease, Osteoporosis, Cataracts.
      • Substance abuse (Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco) — Health Hazards and impact on Society
    2. Immunity and Vaccination:
      • Concept of Immunity- limate and Acquired Immimity
      • Concept of Vaccinations: Vacciiufion Schedule
      • Live attenuated vaccine like OPV, MMR, BCG, Small Pox, Chicken Pox, Rota virus, Influenza etc.
      • Killed vaccine like typhoid, Cholera, Rabies, Plague etc., Toxoid like Diphtheria, Tetanus etc.
      • Combination vaccine like DTP, MMR etc., Conjugated vaccine like Hepatitis B, Haemophilus, lnfluenza Type B.
    3. National Health Mission — Different Initiatives.

    Bio-Fertilizer, Vermicompost, Biopesticides, Bio-fuels; Genetically Modified Crops like BT- Brinjal, BT-Cotton, Golden Rice etc; Transgeoic Animals — examples and their uses in Human Welfare ; Nano particles and their applications in Agriculture and Medical Science.

    Application of DNA Finger Printing.

    MRI, USG, CT SCAN, ECG, EMG, EEG, PET, ELISA- Full form and application.

    Geostationary Satellites, Space Programmes in India- INSAT and IRS Systems, Applications of Space Technology in India with special references to Educational, Agricultural and other Rural Developmental Activities, EDUSAT- its applications, Use of ICT in e• Governance and e- Commerce.
